Nobody remembers a gradient.

Harken got a site that listens before it talks.

Brand, websites and campaigns for Southwest Missouri businesses.

Harken Custom software

You can spot a template from the parking lot.

  1. It looks like everyone else

Same stock hero. Same three cards. Same fade‑in. Your customer has seen that page four times today and remembers none of them.

  2. It doesn’t say anything

“Quality service you can trust.” Every competitor in your county says the identical sentence. Nothing on the page is a reason to pick you.

  3. It never asks

A contact link buried in the footer. No phone number where the decision gets made. Traffic arrives, reads, and leaves without ever being invited to act.

We fix all three — in that order.

Fix mine

Six questions about your business, and you’ll have a real answer the same day.

Harken

Custom software · Brand & website

Every custom‑software firm on earth sells itself with the same gradient, the same grid of features, and a promise to “transform your business.”

Harken’s actual difference is quieter and much better: they sit with your team and watch the work before they quote a number. So the site behaves the way the company does. Instead of claiming they listen, the hero demonstrates it: a live map of the messy spreadsheet‑and‑email workflow a real client arrives with, connecting itself as you scroll.

Editorial cream, one orange accent, and a promise stated in plain English: no pitch deck, no obligation, and if off‑the‑shelf is better, we’ll tell you.

Mischief Makers

Maine Coon cattery · Website rebuild

A breeder raising twenty‑two‑pound cats was selling them through a drag‑and‑drop page with a pale blue button and a pun about being “purrr‑fect.”

Buyers shopping this category are frightened of scams, and nothing on the old page answered that fear. So we scaled the site to the animal: full‑bleed portraits, a headline you can read across a room — Twenty‑two pounds of gentle — and an inch‑ruler along the hero so the size registers before you have read a word.

The palette was sampled from the cats’ own coats, so every photograph looks colour‑graded to the page. Health testing and registration moved out of the footer and into the argument.

Alpha Tots

Learning centre · Website rebuild

Choosing childcare is the highest‑trust purchase a parent ever makes. Alpha Tots was asking people to make it from a page that still had Coronavirus in the navigation.

Twenty‑nine real photographs of their own classrooms sat buried behind a lazy‑loading gallery, while the top of the page showed white type on flat black and one piece of stock photography. The empty Reviews section did more damage than no section at all.

Their best argument was hiding in a parent handbook: they open at six in the morning — ahead of most centres in Springfield — and breakfast is included. For a parent who clocks in at seven, that single fact is the entire decision, so it went above the fold in plain words. Their own tagline, Ask your kids about us, was already the best line anyone had written for them; we made it the headline. The palette came off their apple‑and‑leaf logo, replacing a template pink that belonged to nobody.

Davis Electric

Electrical contractor · Website rebuild

Twenty‑five years of work — the Marriott, Paradise Point, schools across the region, thirty‑plus electricians — behind a page that had not moved since 2015.

Their best line, Connect with Confidence, was set in script type beside a clip‑art plug. We made it the first thing you see, at full height. Services became a breaker panel, because that is the language of the trade and it makes four dry service lists worth reading.

Yellow was rationed to one job — if it is yellow, you can act on it — which is why thirteen separate calls to action never feel loud. Their 2015 job‑site photos were unified under a navy duotone, so mixed‑quality snapshots read as deliberate art direction.

Kempker Landscaping

Lawn & landscape · Website & lead capture

Twenty‑plus years of crews and equipment across Central Missouri. And a homeowner comparing three lawn services online had no way to tell which one actually showed up.

So: proof over adjectives. The real crew, in the real cold, standing in front of the real equipment, because that photograph answers “will they show up” faster than any paragraph can.

A phone number pinned to the top of every screen, quote buttons wherever a decision gets made, and the seasonal reality of the business — lawn care in summer, snow removal in winter — stated up front instead of buried on a services page.

Five industries. Five palettes that share nothing.

A brand only works if it could not belong to anyone else — so none of these came from a swatch library, and yours won’t either.

Everything between the idea and the phone ringing.

Not sure which of these you need? Describe the problem and we’ll name the smallest thing that fixes it.

A great site nobody visits is a secret.

Advertising is how people find you before they know your name. There are three moments worth paying for, they work nothing alike, and most of the money wasted on ads is spent treating them as if they were the same thing.

  1. They search

Google Search and the map pack.

Somebody types “electrician near me” at nine at night. There are paid slots above the map and there is the map listing itself, and the two behave nothing alike. We buy the ones worth buying for your trade and skip the ones that only burn budget.

  2. They scroll

    Facebook and Instagram.

Nobody on Facebook is looking for a roofer — but everybody on Facebook has a roof. Social is for the people who don’t know they need you yet, which is exactly why it has to be judged on different numbers than search is.

  3. They leave

    Retargeting.

Most people who visit your site leave without calling. Retargeting puts you back in front of the ones who already showed interest, for a fraction of what it costs to find somebody new.

Our fee

Talk about advertising

Tell us what you sell and where, and we’ll say which of the three is worth your money first.

What it costs, before you ask.

  1. $999

    The one‑pager

One page · live in 3 days

    • One page, drawn from scratch. Not a template with your logo dropped into it.
    • We write the words. You talk about the business; we turn that into the page.
    • Basic SEO. In plain English: we fill in the labels Google reads — your name, what you do, and the town you do it in — so that searching for you actually finds you.
    • Your Google listing tidied up. Hours, address, phone, and photos, correct and matching the site.
    • Fast on a phone. Most of the people deciding about you are holding one.
    • A contact form and a tap‑to‑call button, so the page asks for the job.

  2. $1,499

    The standard site

Up to 5 pages · live in 1 week

    • Up to five pages. Usually home, services, about, gallery, and contact.
    • Deeper SEO. A page for each service and each town you cover, so you turn up for what people actually type — “electrician in Nixa” — and not only for your own company name.
    • Your photos cleaned up. Cropped, colour‑matched, and compressed so they look sharp and still load quickly.
    • Reviews and proof placed where the decision gets made instead of buried in a footer.
    • Tracking set up, so you can see how many people called and which page sent them.
    • Everything in the one‑pager.

    Live in 1 week

  3. $1,999

    The full build

Up to 15 pages · live in 3 weeks

    • Up to fifteen pages. Room for every service, every area you cover, and every question a customer asks before calling.
    • Ultra attention to SEO. Keyword research before a word is written, structured data so Google can read your hours and reviews straight off the page, speed tuning, and a page per service area.
    • Image and video editing. We cut, colour, and compress your footage and photographs so they load instantly instead of stalling the page.
    • Advanced design. Scroll‑driven sections, motion, and interactive pieces — the things that keep somebody on the page long enough to call.
    • Copywriting throughout, every page, in your voice rather than ours.
    • Everything in the standard site.

    Live in 3 weeks

These are fixed prices for the build itself. Domain registration, hosting, photography, ad spend, and ongoing monthly work are quoted separately — and you will know every number before anything starts. Not sure which one fits? Describe the problem and we will point you at the smallest thing that solves it.

Fifteen minutes of answering questions is what turns three weeks into three days.

Three steps. No mystery.

  1. Learn

We get to know the business before we propose anything.

The most important part of the creative process is understanding what you actually sell and who actually buys it, so we ask a great many questions first. A plan written without that is a guess with a logo on it.

  2. Plan

Then we design a strategy around your objectives.

Not a package we sell everybody. You see it, you understand it, and you approve it before a single thing gets built — including the number.

  3. Build

We build it, launch it, and keep watching.

Open communication and regular updates on what is working and what is not. Then we change what is not. Transparency is the whole relationship.
